Tennis Court Rules
Cascades Community Association Policy Resolution No. 13
The following tennis rules were approved by the Board of Directors at the March 27, 2008 board meeting.
WHEREAS, Article 4, Section 4, 1 of the Bylaws states that "The Board of Directors shall have all of the powers and duties necessary for the administration of
the affairs of the Association and may do all such acts and things as are not required by the Act or the Association Documents to be exercised and done by
the members;
WHEREAS, the Board deems it necessary to establish rules for use of the Association's tennis courts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the following Rules and Regulations for use of the tennis courts be adopted:
   1. The tennis courts are for the exclusive use of residents of the Cascades Community Association and their guests. Residents using the courts must have a
Cascades tennis court access key in their possession demonstrating that they are residents of Cascades or other users authorized by the Board of
Directors.
   2. Any courts may be reserved by the Association for special events, such as instructional programs, tennis tournaments, league competition, social play,
etc. Notice of such events will be posted at the courts and/ or the community center building(s) at least one week in advance of an event.
   3. All other times, the courts shall be available for use on a first come, first served basis. Two tennis courts at the Stone House community center and one
court at the Lowes Island community center may be reserved in advance by contacting the Cascades Community Association management office. . The
Board of Directors shall determine, on a case by case basis, the additional tennis courts that shall be available for reserved play
   4. Courts #3 and #4 at the Quarterpath Trace Recreation area are designated as teaching courts for the group lesson program. Per rule #3 above,
instructors will post their lesson schedule for community awareness.
   5. Use of the courts shall be limited to a one (1) hour time limit for singles play and one and one half (1 1/2) hour time limit for doubles play if there are
persons waiting to use the court.
   6. No more than four players per court are permitted.
   7. The gate to the courts must be locked at all times.
   8. No food or breakable objects are permitted in the tennis court enclosure.
   9. No play equipment including skates and skate boards, toys, play pens, wheeled vehicles including bicycles (except wheelchairs), shoe skates, gum or
street shoes are permitted in the tennis court enclosure.
  10. No pets are permitted in the tennis court enclosure.
  11. No intoxicants will be allowed in the tennis court enclosure. Intoxicated persons will not be allowed to use the tennis courts.
  12. All refuse must be placed in containers provided for this purpose. Residents are urged to assist in keeping the tennis courts clean and pleasant.
  13. Use of the tennis courts must be conducted in a safe manner with due respect and consideration for others who are sharing the courts as well as for
those who live in the nearby areas, particularly during early morning and late evening play. Tennis court rules and courtesies apply at all times. The
use of profane or obscene language is not permitted. Rough play or abusive conduct is not permitted.
 
  14. Only shoes designed specifically for playing tennis are permitted on the tennis courts. Proper attire should be worn.
  15. The Association is not responsible for the loss of or damage to any personal property used or left in the recreational amenity area.
  16. Users must comply with any other posted rules relating to the use of the tennis court.
  17. With the exception of the lighted courts at the Stone House, which will close at midnight, all other tennis facilities will close at dark and remain closed
through the night. The Board of Directors may also establish hours of operation for the tennis courts which may differ between locations based on
proximity to housing units and other factors. Hours of operation will be posted at the courts and users must comply with the posted hours of
operation.
